Conductive gel or lube — what goes where
Get the contact right and everything else falls into place. The 2 options aren't interchangeable, so it's worth knowing which is which.
External electrodes on dry skin make a weak connection — the pulse comes through faint, or not at all. A thin layer of conductive gel on the metal contacts fixes that, giving a clean, even pulse every time. It's water-based and meant for surface use only.
For anything that goes inside, you don't need gel at all. A water-based lube does both jobs — it eases insertion and carries the current evenly through the body.
A little of either goes a long way, so one tube lasts.
Pads, powders and upkeep
Adhesive pads are consumables, not forever items. They peel and stick several times over, but the gel slowly dries, the grip weakens, and the pulse turns uneven. A drop of water revives them for a while; past that, fresh pads bring the contact straight back. Keeping a spare pack means you're never caught short.
Store used pads on their plastic backing, and press them onto clean, hair-free skin for the firmest hold.
Soft, porous toys need a different kind of care — after washing they can feel tacky, and a light dusting of renewal powder brings back the soft feel. The wider toy care range covers the cleaners and powders for that side. Stocking up on the basics now saves hunting for them mid-flow later.
