Anal Probes
Finding the right anal probe
Vibrating vs non-vibrating
Non-vibrating probes are as simple as it gets — a shaped shaft with a flared base, ready to go straight out of the box. They're affordable, easy to clean & give you full control over speed & depth. Vibrating probes add a motor into the equation, with multiple speed settings & patterns that do some of the work for you. If you're newer to anal, a non-vibrating probe keeps things straightforward. If you want more from it, vibrating models bring a lot to the table.
Shape and curve
Straight probes give you a consistent feeling on every stroke. Curved probes angle toward the front wall of the body, which puts pressure on the prostate (or G-spot, depending on who's using it). Beaded shafts add a ripple effect as they move in & out — each bump gives you feedback that a smooth shaft can't. Straight for simplicity, curved for precision, beaded for variety. If you prefer vibration alongside a passive fit rather than thrusting, vibrating butt plugs take a different approach.
Material and lube
PVC & silicone are the two main materials you'll find in anal probes. Silicone is non-porous, body-safe & easy to sterilise. PVC is softer & more flexible, with a slightly different feel on insertion. Both work well for thrusting. If you prefer something harder with zero flex, glass shares that same firm, smooth quality. Whatever material you choose, anal lube is essential — the body doesn't self-lubricate anally, so a thick, anal-specific formula is non-negotiable every time. Reapply during longer thrusting — it makes a real difference.
What makes anal probes different
The movement is the point. A probe goes in, comes out & goes in again — that back-and-forth is the whole appeal. It's a fundamentally different feeling from a plug sitting in place or anal beads being pulled through sequentially. With a probe, you control the speed, depth & rhythm on every stroke.
That makes them popular with people who already know they enjoy anal penetration & want more control over it. Curved vibrating probes hit the prostate or G-spot on each stroke, which is why they overlap heavily with prostate massagers — the difference being that probes are built for active thrusting while massagers are built to sit & press.
Anal probes vs other anal toy types
A probe is a thrusting toy. A plug stays in place. That's the simplest way to separate them. If you want something to insert once & leave — for fullness, wearing, or passive stimulation — a plug from a butt plug set is the better fit. If you want something to actively move in & out, a probe is what you need.
Inflatable butt plugs are about stretch & adjustable size. Prostate massagers are about angle & a specific internal spot. Probes are about motion & depth. Different goals, different tools — and knowing which one you're after saves you buying the wrong thing.
