How to choose a harness
Chest, body, or waist
Start with how much of you it covers. A chest harness sits up top — straps across the shoulders and chest, often meeting at a central O-ring — for a sharp frame over the pecs with nothing below.
A full body harness carries the lines down the torso, linking chest to waist and sometimes the hips, for a caged look across the whole front. Some drop to a cock ring or thigh straps at the base.
A waist belt keeps it low and simple — a band with rings or fixings, handy as an anchor point or worn alone. Heavier rigs lean towards a bondage scene; a single chest strap is an easy first piece.
Material and fit
Material sets the whole feel. Leather is the classic — weighty, firm, and it moulds to you over time. Chain drapes and catches the light, with a cooler touch and more movement. Stretch elastic pulls on easiest and forgives the fit, the most comfortable for a first try.
Fit is what makes or breaks a harness. Look for adjustable buckles or several rows of holes so the straps sit firm without digging in. Too loose and it slides; too tight and it marks — a little give in the right places is what you want.
The rings aren't only for show. They give cuffs, a leash or a cock ring something to clip onto, turning a harness into the centre of a look. To keep leather supple, wipe it down after wear and condition it now and then — done right, it lasts for years.
